This site first launched on June 26, 2020 and has been running since then.
The daily community of media and event professionals that started during COVID lockdowns and became one of the only authentic communities on the internet. This is the community behind After Hours.
In March 2020, as COVID-19 shut down the world, a handful of media artists began meeting every day online to trade notes and fend off the isolation. That daily gathering never stopped. It grew into Office Hours Global — a community of over 5,000 media and event professionals from nearly every continent who meet every single day to learn from each other.
"One of the only authentic communities on the internet."
— Office Hours GlobalMonday through Friday, 7-8 AM Pacific / 10-11 AM Eastern. Live panel discussions about media production, live streaming, cameras, audio, post-production, and the business of creating content.
Producers, streamers, filmmakers, developers, educators, and creatives from around the world. Free to join. You listen first, then ask questions, then contribute back.
No paywall. No gatekeeping. Donate if you can. The community runs on curiosity, generosity, and the belief that sharing knowledge makes everyone better.
Alex Ben Lindsay (born July 10, 1970) is an American computer graphics and video production specialist who founded Office Hours in March 2020. He spent three years at Lucasfilm and Industrial Light & Magic working on Star Wars: Episode I and Titan A.E. He even played a character named Rum Sleg in The Phantom Menace — they made action figures of him.
Founded Pixel Corps and dvGarage (computer graphics companies). Produced MacBreak (offered 1080p episodes in 2006 — revolutionary). Regular on MacBreak Weekly on the TWiT network with Leo Laporte. Taught at Academy of Art and San Francisco State. In January 2026, joined Apple Inc. full-time.
Alex built Office Hours into a daily institution that has run every single day since March 2020 — over 2,000 consecutive days of shows. He created a model for online community that actually works: show up, share what you know, ask what you don't.

Office Hours Global is proof that authentic online community is possible. In an era of algorithmic feeds, clickbait, and engagement farming, OH/G is a daily gathering of real people sharing real knowledge. No influencer posturing. No sales pitches. Just professionals helping each other get better at their craft.
"The shows are just the beginning. The real value is the relationships you build with people who care about the same things you do."
The community has directly influenced the adoption of new technologies (vertical streaming, AI in production, 4K workflows), shaped product development at companies like Ecamm and mimoLive, and created career opportunities for hundreds of members.
